Whitesands flood scheme approved

A letter published this week states that Dumfries and Galloway Council's plan to create an earth bund flood defence is a "justifiable, technically feasible and cost effective solution to the risk of regular and potentially devastating effects of flooding at Whitesands." The letter was published more than a year after a public local inquiry into the scheme was held in Dumfries. More details to follow.
