Vote countdown is on

MEMBERS of the public will decide who they want to be Annan Riding of the Marches Cornet’s Lass for 2026 at a vote tomorrow afternoon.

Both Sarah-Jane Halliday and Holly Ker have put their names forward for the leading role.

The winner will join Cornet Elect John Crowther and Standard Bearer Elect Kirstie Butler in the official party. The vote will take place tomorrow afternoon at The Corner House Hotel, from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Voting is open to all aged 16 and over, there are no boundary limits.

George Campbell, joint convener, said: “We are delighted that both Sarah-Jane and Holly have been nominated to be a key part of our 80th anniversary.

“Having an election shows that there is still a great deal of public interest in being one of our principals.

“We would encourage as many people as possible to turn out and support the girls by casting your vote.

“Good luck to both of you.”
