Villagers call to ‘bring back The Brig’

MEMBERS of the Brydekirk community gathered outside the village pub last Saturday to show their support in bringing the building back to life. The Brig Inn Community Pub and Hub Community Benefit Society want to bring the pub into community ownership. A group spokesperson said: “What an incredible show of community spirit. Your smiles, signs, dogs, kids - and the brilliant energy you brought made today’s photo a massive success. “Together, you’ve helped send a clear message: Brydekirk wants its pub back. “Thank you for standing with us, supporting the campaign and showing what our community is all about.” The group hope to launch a formal share offer in the next few months as they look to progress with their plans to revive the pub. Residents can follow updates on the Brig Inn’s social media pages, website and Brydekirk’s community noticeboard. The group is also welcoming new volunteers and supporters to join the effort to secure a thriving future for the Brig Inn.
