THE morning service at St Andrew’s started with something a little different last Sunday.

Morning worshippers in Annan were treated first to a concert by Just Strum who then continued throughout the service to lead the praise.

Just Strum is a local Ukelele band consisting of 14 members in total who practice every Friday afternoon in the hall at St Andrew’s on Bank Street.

The players vary in experience but bring talent and energy together

to create a fantastic sound.

During the service they accompanied the congregation, aided by Rev John Pickles on guitar, in popular worship songs such as In Christ Alone, Yet not I but through Christ in me, Be Thou Our Vision and a lively kid’s action song, Great Big God.

As the services at St Andrew’s Church, Annan are recorded, and put on the Parish YouTube page, there is always a chance to go back again and enjoy the sound of the band at youtube.com/@stABC.online

Just Strum are open to new members joining, if you play pop along one Friday from 1.30 pm, a warm welcome awaits.

They are also playing at The Sandpiper in Queensberry Caravan Park, Powfoot from 1.30 pm to 3 pm this coming Friday as part of the VE Day celebrations.
