Top hospitality award for Stephen

A DUMFRIESSHIRE restaurateur was ‘blown away’ to be recognised with a prestigious award this week.

Stephen Montgomery, who owns Our Place in Annan and previously ran pubs and eating places in Lockerbie and Dumfries, was presented with the “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry” award for Hospitality in Scotland at the The Scotsman Scran Awards in Glasgow on Monday night.

He said: “I was absolutely blown away. Being nominated is an honour on its own, but to take away the top spot was just amazing.

“This award isn’t just about me, this is about the Scottish Hospitality Group and why we got together in the first place: to make, without fear nor favour, a real difference to the sector by making sure the sectors voice is heard along the corridors of Holyrood and Westminster.”
