Sutherland Chalice success for Corbett

DUMFRIES golfer Chris Corbett, above left, was victorious in this year’s Sutherland Chalice. The Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club player had rounds of 72 and 70 (142) which secured the chalice title. Runner-up on 145 was fellow Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club Ryan Hyslop, and Crichton’s Danny McConnachie finished third on 148. A spokesman for the club said: “Thanks to all those who played and braved the element, on what was a tough day for scoring.”
