UPDATED: School closures TBC

Monday September 19 has been declared a Day of National Mourning across the UK with most schools expected to be shut. It has already been confirmed that, in line with national guidance, the local authority will be closed on the National Day of Mourning, the day of Her Majesty's funeral.

In addition, all citizenship ceremonies will be postponed; and all non-essential meetings of DGC business and events will be cancelled or postponed until after the funeral. Further details will be available on the council website and through social media.
