Sam named as crash victim
THE man who died in a crash on the A7 near Langholm has been named as Sam Cropper from Newcastleton. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the smash at about 11.35 am on Tuesday November 4. Sam, 36, was the driver of a green Toyota Hilux which was in collision with a white Scania HGV. His passenger, a 55-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but the lorry driver was not injured. Police are still investigating the circumstances and Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our thoughts remain with Sam’s family and friends at this difficult time, as well as the man who suffered serious injuries. "We continue to carry out extensive enquiries into this crash and I’d appeal to anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 1242 of 4 November.
