RoM principals sashed at glittering ceremony

ANNAN Riding of the Marches principals for 2026 were made official after receiving their sashes last Friday night. The annual sashing ceremony – for the 80th anniversary of AROM becoming an annual event — took place at the Corner House Hotel in front of a healthy crowd. Cornet John Crowther and his Lass Holly Ker were piped on to the stage by Travis McKenna Johnston. Following on were Standard Bearer Kirstie Butler and Queen of the Border Lexie Carlyle. Wilma Barty, 1976 Cornet’s Lass, carried out the sashing duties, while honorary president Andrew Murdoch returned sashes to the outgoing principals. Fiona Graham was the mistress of ceremonies for the evening.
