RoM committee treats senior supporters
MORE than 60 senior citizens enjoyed an afternoon of Scottish music, highland dancing, an old time singalong as well as a fabulous afternoon tea on Sunday at Newington Social Club, courtesy of Annan Riding of the Marches.
The free event was organised by town’s riding of the marches committee to give a treat to their more senior supporters.
Music was provided by John Caskie MBE and William McRoberts, as well as Highland Dancing from Louise Smith School of Dancing.
Commenting on the event, George Campbell, joint convener, said: “We are delighted with the success of our inaugural seniors party.
“As an organisation we are fully committed to providing a diverse range of events, to suit all age groups. This would not have been possible without the support of our local businesses and hard-working committee.”
Thanks are expressed to The Snack Box, Isherwoods, The Corner House Hotel, The Pantry, Smilers, Tesco, Farm Direct, TA Francis, Pam Patterson for the afternoon tea donations, as well as Newington Social Club and Annan Community Transport for their help.
