MOFFAT Mountain Rescue (MMR) were called into action last Friday to help an injured walker on Criffel.

Eight team members responded to the call alongside members of Galloway Mountain Rescue Team to rescue of a walker with a suspected broken ankle on the peak near New Abbey.

Once at the scene the team were able to evacuate the walker from the hill on a stretcher with the aid of a wheel and back rope.

The walker was then transferred into the MMR ambulance before being taken to New Abbey where they were handed over to the Scottish Ambulance Service to be taken to hospital.
