THE region’s new Episcopal bishop visited congregations from Gretna to Portpatrick last week as he toured the region.

Reverend Canon Dr Nicholas Bundock was elected to the position of Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway back in January following the retirement of the Rt Rev Kevin Pearson.

During his three day tour of the region, Bishop Nick visited churches and met with congregations at St John the Evangelist in Moffat, All Saints in Lockerbie, All Saints in Gretna and St John’s in Eastriggs, and St John’s in Dumfries, learning about each community as well as hearing about how faith is lived out in each place.

Whilst in Moffat, Bishop Nick presented the congregation of St John the Evangelist with a Christmas rose, that flowers in the darkest times, and Rev John Stevenson pulled out a washed pebble with the word ‘Blessings’ on it, which will now sit on the altar.

The congregation then gifted the bishop a clock with a cyclist in it made by local firm WildThings, remembering Bishop Nick had mentioned at his consecration that he and his wife were keen cyclists.
