Progress reported with Moffat’s PI lease
GOOD news has been reported in the Proudfoot Institute saga at Moffat. Group secretary Don Gillespie this week shared a positive update on the situation, saying: “I am pleased to report that we are making progress in our lease negotiations with Dumfries and Galloway. “Thanks to the efforts of David Booth, our committee negotiator, and the support from Moffat & District Community Council, a positive meeting has taken place with Dumfries and Galloway Council.” He revealed a senior manager has now been appointed to oversee the situation and that they are ‘keen to resolve the confusion’. Explaining further, Don added: “First of all, our existing management agreement will continue to hold until a new one is agreed. “They will also be conducting a survey of the building using an external surveyor. Once completed, the council’s property services will be discussing what wind and watertight issues need to be addressed. “This is a refreshing approach which enables us to progress the club with confidence.”
