Police name Stranraer victim

He was Gary Handling, 33, who lived in the town. Officers say Mr Handling was injured during a disturbance which occurred at about 11.40 pm on Monday night in John Simpson Drive. Emergency services attended and he was taken by ambulance to Galloway Community Hospital, but died a short time later. A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death and was due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court today Wednesday.
