Police confirm man's death

A MAN died in yesterday's crash on the A7 near Langholm, it has been confirmed. The 36-year-old was the driver of a green Toyota Hilux and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 55-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Medical staff have described his condition as stable. Their vehicle was in a collision with a white Scania HGV at about 11.35 am near Briery Bank, north of Langholm. The lorry driver was not injured. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for information. Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died in this crash, as well as the man who suffered serious injuries. “We’re carrying out extensive enquiries to establish exactly what happened and I’d appeal to anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1242 of 4 November.
