Photo prize for Brian

A PHOTOGRAPHER from the region has won a prestigious prize.

Brian Murphy’s striking image, “Daddy’s Girl”- pictured above – won the Morton Plate in this year’s Borders Digital Challenge.

The photograph beat 96 other images, scoring the maximum 20 points. Brian, from Dumfries, who is a member of the Abbey Camera Club, was shocked to win and said: “I got a call from a friend from another club telling me that I’d won. To start with I thought that he might be kidding, but when he arrived at my house with the trophy shortly afterwards, it began to sink in.”

Abbey Camera Club meets at Georgetown Community Centre every Wednesday and welcomes photographers of all levels of ability and experience
