Offer made to bring village pub into community ownership

A GROUP hoping to bring their village pub back into community ownership have made an offer after achieving their fundraising goal. The Brig Inn Pub and Hub set out to raise £35,000 by mid January in order to submit an offer for Brydekirk pub the Brig Inn. A statement from the group said: "Thanks to the very generous donations received during our Tesco bag packing, the fantastic fundraising at Friday night’s bingo, the raffles, our Crowdfunder and the offline donations, we’ve now hit our target!
"A formal offer has been made, and we’re waiting to hear whether it will be accepted – bringing us one step closer to bringing the Brig back under community ownership.
