UPDATES have been given on various issues relating to Moffat’s Station Park. Dumfries and Galloway Council have confirmed they will replace the broken small panes of glass on the pavilion. As for the playpark element, the procurement process is complete and a supplier appointed. However a key piece of equipment is not immediately available so a decision was made to start the works in early January. Annandale North Cllr Stephen Thompson said: “This will minimise the disruption to the site. “Moffat and District Community Council have been advised.” He also offered an update on the park pond, revealing that council staff have been regularly monitoring and inspecting the water levels, especially when there have been high rainfall events over the past few weeks. Furthermore, in-house remedial works are due to take place over the winter months, which relate to the points identified in by a specialist pond contractor’s report. The councillor added: “D&G Council community assets, through the council’s ward officer for Annandale North, would welcome the opportunity of working with volunteers in the future.”
