Memories of Annan wanted for project

RESIDENTS in Annan are being asked to share local memories and anecdotes about everyday life in the town for an upcoming Annan History Town project. The group will soon be launching a new Active Heritage Trail in in Annan and, as part of it, artist Hope London would love to speak to members of the community. On social media, the group said: “This project is all about journey, movement and connection – how you got around Annan (and beyond) and what it meant to you. “We’d love to hear memories about: the railway and station; buses and getting to work/school; walking routes, shortcuts and “the way we always went”; the harbour/river and links further afield; and shopping trips, visiting family, leisure and special occasions. “With permission, some memories may be recorded and used as part of a creative artwork celebrating Annan’s people – and everyone who takes part will be invited to come and see the finished piece.” To get involved visit Annan the History Town Group’s Facebook page.
