Lass role goes to vote

TOWNSFOLK have a choice of two vying to be Cornet’s Lass in this year’s Annan Riding of the Marches. Holly Ker and Sarah-Jane Halliday will compete for votes from members of the public next Saturday afternoon, February 21, at The Corner House Hotel, Annan. And both are desperate to assume the role in what will be the 80th anniversary of AROM becoming an annual event.

Meanwhile, John Crowther will lead the cavalcade after assuming the role of Cornet, while Kirstie Butler follows in her mum’s footsteps as she becomes Standard Bearer in 2026. The Cornet's Lass vote, which will take place between 12 pm and 4 pm, is open to all persons aged 16 and over.
