It’s rideout time!
HORSES, riders and principals are preparing for the first Annan rideout of the 2025 season.
It takes pace next Wednesday, May 28, and the route is to Newbie.
The cavalcade will leave from John Bell Field at 6.30 pm prompt and will go via Hecklegirth Road, Annerley Road, Summergate, Lovers Walk, Elm Road, Hallmeadow Place, Port Street, High Street, Low Road (B724), Albie Forestry, Newbie Path, Three Tree Road, Newbie Point, Three Tree Road, Low Road (B724), McLaughlin Loaning - into the fields. Then it’s the B721, High Street, Solway Street and back to John Bell’s Field.
A Riding of the Marches spokesperson said: “Whilst marshals make every effort to ensure the safety and good conduct of riders; ultimately all riders take part in ride-outs at their own risk. Riders must to take out adequate, third party liability insurance and should be aware that they will be held responsible for damage to persons or property due to their horse’s or their hired horse’s actions.
“Routes may not be suitable for horse-drawn vehicles.
“We ask that all riders complete the registration form prior to attending, which can be found on the ROM Facebook page or website.”
