ANNAN Athletic player manager Wullie Gibson has admitted the next three matches are massive for the club.

And with all of them being held at Galabank, Gibson hopes his troops can get back to winning ways on home soil.

It has been a dreadful past week, results wise, for the Black and Golds.

They lost to Forfar Athletic, Stirling Albion and most recently Spartans on the road which has hampered their play-offs hopes.

But with home games against Stirling Albion (Sat), Elgin City (Tues night) and Edinburgh City coming up, Gibson knows his side need to rack up victories to be back in play-off contention.

He said: “There’s no easy games, but having three on the bounce on the road was always going to be a tough week. But now we have three at home to look forward to.

“They are three big games, believe me! Myself and the staff will prepare as best as we can.

“The players will also be prepared because we need to be on the top of our game for the next three matches.

“I’m usually one of them who likes to take it one game at a time but there’s no hiding where we are in the league.

“It has changed over the last few weeks where if we had won our games in hand we would be in the play-off spots at the right end of the table.

“Now we need to work hard for one another and get things right on the pitch and hopefully take as many points as possible from these home games.”

Meanwhile, the club confirmed that Myles Gaffney has joined East Fife on loan for the rest of the season.

The forward joined the Galabankies last summer and scored seven goals in 28 appearances.

But with striker Tommy Goss returning from his loan spell and Joel Mumbongo back from injury, there has been stiff competition for places in the forward line.
