PUPILS at one Annan primary school have been left delighted following the construction of a new outdoor gym. The new equipment has been installed in the playground at St Columba’s. And the official opening ceremony took place last Friday morning on the last day of term. Former parent council chair Wendy Hamilton had the vision and worked tirelessly to make the project a reality, with support from the parent council and wider community. Wendy was alongside Lee-Ann Martin as she cut the ribbon. Headteacher Clare Reid: “The gym is more than just equipment - it’s an investment in our children’s health and wellbeing. “It encourages them to be active, to enjoy the outdoors and to develop healthy habits that will stay with them for life. “It’s also a place for fun, friendship and building confidence. “We are incredibly proud to open this space today, and I know it will be enjoyed by our pupils for many years to come.” Thanks were expressed to all who helped make the project happen, including Stealth Competitions, DFS Caskets, The Anglers, AAFC Black and Gold Foundation, Steven Ceates at The Shed, June Woods, cllr Richard Brodie and Ben at Sovereign Play.
