COMMUNITY groups, schools and charities near Chapelcross are being invited to apply for a new sponsorship fund launched by CX Technology Campus. The fund has been established to support local organisations during the planning stages of the proposed net-zero technology campus. Applications are now open, with grants of up to £3,000 available for projects that deliver clear community benefit. The initiative is aimed at groups operating within a three-mile radius of the site, including schools, youth organisations, environmental groups and community sports clubs. Funding is intended to support a wide range of local activity, from education and skills programmes to community facilities and grassroots initiatives. David Young, director of engineering and design for CX Technology Campus said: “Chapelcross has long been part of the life of the surrounding communities, and this fund is a way of supporting that connection as the project moves forward. "We want to back local organisations that are already making a difference and help them continue their work.” Applications will be assessed against clear criteria, including community benefit and local impact. The fund is open to not-for-profit organisations, charities, schools and community groups, with priority given to projects that support the area directly. The funding programme forms part of a wider commitment to ongoing engagement with local communities as proposals for CX Technology Campus develop. Alongside consultation events and stakeholder engagement, the fund is intended to ensure that early investment is directed into the communities closest to the site. Applications are open until May 18, and all submissions will be reviewed against the programme criteria. Further information on eligibility and how to apply is available via cxtechnologycampus.co.uk
