Group members plea

MOFFAT Community Council is seeking new members to join the group. They will be opening formal membership/recruitment process early in January which will be run by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Any resident of Moffat can apply to join the community council, you simply need another resident to acknowledge your application. A spokesman for the Moffat group said: "As there are just eight of us, we are keen to ensure we have the most effective and broadest community representation possible as we address both the everyday and the strategic challenges facing our community. "The community council is a recognised and constituted voluntary body, and is a point of representation and statutory consultation for a wide range of community issues. "We meet monthly in public, and represent Moffat's interest in a number of ways, some obvious, some less so. "If more than six folks want to join the community council there will be an election!
