Gala makes SOS for more helpers

A WARNING has been given that Moffat Gala won’t be able to continue unless new committee members are found. And an emergency meeting will take place next month in a last-ditch attempt to sign up more folk ahead of the event’s 75th anniversary this summer.

A spokesperson said: “Due to a shortage of office bearers and committee members after our AGM, we must recruit new committee members so we can continue with our plans for the 2026 gala. “This year sees the 75th anniversary of Moffat and District Gala and, sadly, if we do not receive any new members or support from the community, it would no longer be possible to continue with our gala week. “After 75 years of gala, it would be devastating for gala to end.” Anyone interested in getting involved or volunteering in anyway is asked to message directly on Facebook or email the team at [email protected]. The EGM will take place on March 3 at 7 pm in the Proudfoot club. All welcome.
