FIVE-STAR DONATION . . . Moffat's Star Hotel and its patrons have raised £652 for MacMillan Cancer Support and the Royal British Legion. The amount was raised with customers donating what they can into the 'charity bottle' in the hotel's bar. The money has been split between the two charities with the MacMillan group receiving £325 and the Royal British Legion being given £327. A spokesperson for the Star Hotel added: "Thanks to all our fantastic customers for their kind donations throughout the year! "The bottle is now back on the bar ready to beat the target next year!"
