Factory Shop employees ‘preparing for the worst’
AN ANNAN High Street business has thanked customers for their support over the years after announcing a closing down sale.
The Original Factory Shop entered administration last week, leaving 137 stores and 1,180 staff at risk.
In a message to customers on Facebook last week, the team at Annan said: “We have been getting a lot of questions in store in regards to what is currently happening with the Original Factory Shop.
“Since we have had an update, now seemed a good time to let people know rather than leaving it to gossip.
“Yesterday we officially entered administration. While there is still a small slither of hope that we could be saved, we are preparing ourselves for the worst.
“We will be starting to hold a closing down sale starting today and we ask that you please support us, as if sales aren’t as high as expected we have been told that we could be gone a lot sooner.
“Obviously there are seven of us that work here and this is a very sad time for us as we have all worked together for many years.
“We ask that you please be respectful when asking us questions in regards to the store closing as we currently don’t have an answer but when we do we will update you.
“Many thanks for all the years of support.”
