Defib fund installs ninth device in town
NINE defibrillators have now been successfully installed around Annan thanks to the Annan Defibrillator Fund.
The fund’s most recent life-saving device is now in working order after being put inside the phone box at the Back of the Hill.
Committee member John Steel this week said: “It has taken us a while to get one there, but we are pleased it is now up and running.
“My thanks go to Annan Community Council for their help in acquiring the phone box.
“It’s hard to believe that it’s 11 years since the people of Annan started to raise money for a defibrillator. This one makes it nine in Annan that we care for.
“We will be fundraising soon to help with the upkeep, people don’t realise how many times they are taken out.
“Ste Turner is currently doing a 500 mile walk/run in aid of Annan Defibrillator Fund. Donation sheets can be found in the Commercial and other premises around Annan.”
Thanks are expressed to Joyce Wylie, Chani Irving and Boyd Carol for their help in getting the defibs up and ordering parts; Cody Harding and Russell Simpson for making sure regular checks are done; and All Fixed No Fuss for putting up and wiring the devices.
