Darts show duo enjoyed their TV time
THEY might have been the first team out, but Gail and JoJo Bailey had a great time and even left with couple of prizes after appearing on smash hit ITV game show Bullseye.
The married couple, who live in Dumfries, appeared on a recent episode of the popular show hosted by former international cricketer Freddie Flintoff.
In Bullseye three teams compete to win prizes. Each team has a darts player and a quiz player.
JoJo, originally from Annan, said: “I was the thrower and Gail was the knower. We didn’t get on as well as we hoped, although we smashed the auditions.
“We were the first ones out but we still won a Bendy Bully and £300.
“There was also a little joke there abut an IQ test where I got 0 out of 100. I have got a certificate that still hangs up in The Commercial!”
JoJo, who works in retail, plays darts for the Station House in Annan. She also used to work at the town’s Commercial Inn. And can still be seen on occasion taking part in the pub’s karaoke nights.
A learning assistant at Dumfries Academy, Gail, said they were very surprised at how much was cut out of the final programme.
They both praised presenter Freddie Flintoff who ‘could not have been any nicer’, and they revealed that world champ Luke Littler featured as the celebrity darts thrower.
JoJo added: “(Freddie) was really nice. He came over and had a chat with us.
“We said if we won we would get matching tattoos of a dart with Bully as the flight and Freddie Flintoff’s autograph as the stem, but obviously we didn’t get that far!
“I had no paper at the end of the show, so I got him to autograph my arm and I got it tattooed.”
Asked if they would be applying for any shows in the future, JoJo added: “Gail wants to do ‘The 1% Club’, and I think I would actually go for Big Brother one day.”
JoJo and Gail would like to give a shout out to their three daughters, Zoe, Lucy and Delilah, and friends and family who were supporting at home.
JoJo said: “It’s lights, camera, action and it’s a different environment. It’s so much fun, but, at the same time, you just can’t shake off that bit of extra pressure.
“We wanted second place but we won money, got the Bendy Bully and we had fun.”
