Crowds gather for Gretna’s grand gala day parade

THERE was a great turnout for the 2025 rendition of Gretna Gala last Saturday. Crowds lined the streets to cheer for an impressive parade which featured a number of colouful entries, pipe bands and, of course, the Royal float, with Gala Queen Lyndsey Yates and Champion Bailey Howes positioned at the front. The afternoon was filled with a fun fair and kids entertainment before adults enjoyed a drag queen event at the social club later on in the evening. This week the gala committee confirmed they had raised £440 in collection buckets and £200 from the raffle, funds raised will help go towards associated costs with running the event. Thanks are expressed to all who took part, came to watch, donated and helped in any way.
