Crash victim named

Officers are still appealing for witnesses to the A75 crash, which took place at about 2.40 pm near to Palnure, Newton Stewart. A silver coloured Toyota Aygo car being driven by the 57-year-old was in collision with a white coloured Volvo articulated lorry being driven by a 54-year-man from Garlieston. Mrs McClelland was was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry was uninjured and an 18-year-old female passenger in the lorry was taken to Galloway Community Hospital to be checked over. She was later released. The road was closed and a full crash scene investigation was carried out. Constable Caillie Douce of the Roads Policing Unit said: "Enquiries into the cause of this collision are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed it to call us on the 101 number quoting the reference number 2135 2/10. "Anyone who may have captured this collision on a dash-cam is also asked to call this number."
