Covid hits primary school

AN Annandale primary school has been closed due to coronavirus.

All the pupils and staff have been sent home from Collin Primary and deep cleaning of the building will now take place.

Dumfries and Galloway Council say just a single case has been reported but the closure decision has been taken as a ‘precautionary measure’.

Officials say the small school will remain closed until Wednesday November 18.

Meanwhile, today’s figures for Dumfries and Galloway show there have now been 958 positive cases of coronavirus recorded this year, up from 935 yesterday.

Five people remain in hospital.
