MANY people will have memories from The Clubhouse at 17 Bank Street. Between 1980 and 2025 it was a prominent venue in the town, and at its peak it was Annan’s Saturday night social hub. Annan Rugby Club decided to close the clubhouse at the end of last year following ongoing challenges within the hospitality sector. However, it is not all doom and gloom. The planned sale of the venue at Bank Street comes at a time when the club is focusing its efforts in bringing all rugby related activities under one roof at Violetbank. This includes a redevelopment of the existing clubhouse pitch-side, with additional changing facilities and a new social space, which will be available for use by the club as well as community groups. Annan Rugby Club sent us these pictures from 17 Bank Street over the years to share with readers.
