Care home duo thanked for hard work
TWO staff members at a Kirkpatrick Fleming care home received long service awards this week. Lorene Boyd joined the team at Notwen House in January 1991 and Elaine Moffat joined in January 2002. Care home owner Jim Getherum purchased the home 19 years ago. He, along with residents, wanted to show appreciation for Lorene and Elaine’s hard work over the years. Jim said: “From the very first day I was impressed by their hard work, commitment but most of all their compassion and care for our residents. “In the following 19 years that respect, gratitude and admiration for the way they go about their work has only grown. “(Throughout their time) I estimate that both have supported over 500 residents and their families and friends. “The comments and appreciation that we have received from families regarding the way Lorene and Elaine have supported them and their loved ones is truly humbling.” The residents presented the pair with bouquets of flowers, while South Scotland MSP Emma Harper also presented tokens of appreciation which had been prepared by the home.
