Cadet leader praised

A CADETb force adult volunteer from Annandale has received a prestigious award for his service. Sergeant Kane Marshall, pictured, of Annan and Lockerbie Detachment, was the runner up for the West Lowland Battalion Army Cadets Award. He said: “One of the best things for me is seeing all these shy kids coming in who don’t want to talk to or even look at anyone, and two years down the line they’re brimming with confidence.” The awards acknowledges the dedication and selflessness of the adult volunteers who give their time and talents to support young people aged 12-18. All nominations are submitted by cadet members themselves.
