DECORATED tractors and lorries will assemble in Lockerbie on Saturday afternoon for the popular Christmas charity run. Every year the illuminated event, organised by Ryan Muir, attracts more participants and this year’s is expected to be no different. They will start gathering at Lockerbie Auction Mart from mid afternoon onwards, where there will also be refreshments and charity collections taking place. Judging will also take place there, with prizes for the best decorated tractor or truck. And it will be ready, steady, go at 5.30 pm, with a police escort to lead the procession out of town, then it’s onto Lochmaben and Dumfries, before returning to Lockerbie. The event will be livestreamed by Dalscone Farm. It’s £20 to enter and all proceeds will go to the neonatal at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. It’s a cause close to Ryan’s heart after his daughter needed care when she was born. He is also encouraging spectators to get out on the streets and said: “Please give us all a wave and cheer as we pass as we look forward to seeing everyone out on the streets. It really does make the run even more special.”
