Alastair releases new crime series
FOLLOWING a four year break from writing, Annan author Alastair Brown has returned with a thrilling new crime action series comprising eight novellas.
He is the writer of the Amazon number one bestselling Joe Beck vigilante justice crime thriller series, featuring two Amazon category #1 bestsellers — “Army of One” and “Payback”.
And now Alastair has published the first book of his new series — “Hurricane”.
The series follows Axel Briggs — a disgraced former US Marine who scrapes by living in a camper in South Florida and moonlighting as a shadowy investigator. Haunted by his past, Axel is driven to do the right thing.
The release marks a return to writing for Alastair after a four-year break to welcome a baby with his partner.
The books in his previous Joe Beck series are highly acclaimed, having attracted hundreds of thousands of readers and thousands of reviews across the world.
Alastair said: “I’m delighted to be back to share a new series with my readers.
“Each novella is a stand-alone story, but they are all interconnected with the same lead character, featuring scenes and action that I believe will keep readers hooked from beginning to end.”
Alastair has been based in Annan since 2020 after moving from North Lanarkshire.
He continues to work in advertising with the ultimate ambition being one day to write full-time.
“Quite often it’s done out on a walk on a phone,” said Alastair on his writing technique.
“If you get out and about that’s when ideas come to you. I have got ideas for another series in the back of my head.”
The writer also added that a future story could be set in Annandale.
n THE first novella in the new series, “Hurricane”, is available now on Amazon for Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
The remaining seven novellas are also available for pre-order and will be released every two weeks until Tuesday December 9. Each book is fast-paced and intended to be read in one weekend, zeroing in on themes of organised crime, murder, missing persons cases, terrorism and more.
