SHOPS and businesses in Annan went all out for this year’s Christmas window dressing competition. And finally the judges have chosen their winners. In first place, and scooping the Don Barty Memorial Shield, was Our Wee Pop Up Shop; second went to Rene’s Gifts and Accessories and third to The Cafe Royal.

Meanwhile, certificates were given to four more places which had made a special effort. These were Zana’s Barbers, Jandera Hair, Kate’s Kitchen Charity Shop and the Solway Cafe Louisa Currie, from Annan Christmas Lights Committee, thanked everyone for their efforts and said: “There were some amazing entries and the street is starting to look beautifully festive. “We think everyone will agree that Our Wee Pop Up Shop went above and beyond with their entry and the collaboration with the Cafe Royal has created an absolutely amazing display! If you haven’t dropped by yet, it’s a must-see!” And the Pop-up Shop team said: “We have some you people to thank for their help and commitment in making our wacky ideas reality and that means Gordon Kirk, Keith Richardson, Anna Wolfie Cole, Niki Armstrong, Nuno Thomas, and the biggest thank you of all goes to The Cafe Royal especially John and Danny who encouraged, believed, supported our ideas and added even crazier ones. There was so much fun and laughter, it was great fun. Here’s to next year’s collaboration. “And finally, thank you to everyone who has visited our display and we hope it brings you lots of smiles.”
