ARTISTS, makers and creators from Dumfries and Galloway are being invited to apply toVisual Arts Scotland’s first-ever Artist & Maker Market.
It’s taking place this summer at the iconic Dalkeith Palace and Country Park from August 15-17.
With 110 stalls spanning both the grounds of Dalkeith Country Park and interior of Dalkeith Place, it will be Scotland’s biggest contemporary art and craft market; showcasing glassmaking, textiles, jewellery, furniture, photography, sculpture and visual art from artists, makers and creators from across Scotland.
Visual Arts Scotland president Tavienne Bridgwater said: “This high profile event marks the first time Visual Arts Scotland has ventured beyond its renowned programme of exhibitions, residencies and awards since launching over 100 years ago.”
She described it as an exciting bold new chapter for Visual Arts Scotland, and part of a three-year plan to deliver ambitious programmes showcasing the creative talent in Scotland.
Tavienne added: “We will be transforming Dalkeith Palace and Country Park into a hotbed of creativity, offering visitors the chance to explore and buy art, meet makers and enjoy curated exhibitions just seven miles from Edinburgh!”
Visual Arts Scotland is inviting emerging artists and established makers from across all specialisms to apply before the deadline on Monday 2nd June at 5pm.
