ALL communication between The Proudfoot Indoor Sports and Social Club (PISC) and Dumfries and Galloway Council has been suspended as frustrations boil over.
The PISC has been locked in a back and forth with the legal arm of the council for a number of years over a long-term lease for the building.
But little progress has been made in the negotiations with the club previously declaring a hard deadline for September. This lack of progress has left the club committee exasperated and they have taken the decision to suspend all contact with council officials.
In an email written to the councils governance and assurance manager Jackie Holland, a spokesperson for PISC stated: “Our dialogue over many weeks is going nowhere, obfuscation is maybe a better word . We have tried every way that we know how over the past 12 months and we now find ourselves in the same place: there are fundamental questions to be answered still outstanding over months.
“We shall be suspending all dialogue with your department until such times that the trustees, all 43 of them, discuss internally with the council, and identify a positive way forward.”
