POLICE in Dumfries have been working with their colleagues in North Wales Police to target store crime.
Together they tracked down a man and woman from Birmingham who had travelled to Scotland to target stores and steal high value items.
They were wanted in connection with a large theft committed in Dumfries on Friday.
And the pair were stopped in a car earlier this week by North Wales Police.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Both will now be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in Dumfries once they have been dealt with in Wrexham.
“Dumfries community officers work closely with other police forces, Retailers Against Crime and retailers to deter and detect these gangs who think they can target our area to steal high value items.”
