Furlough claims down slightly in February

THE NUMBER of furloughed employments in the region dipped slightly last month.

Figures released by HMRC reveal that 8400 claims were made through the Government’s furlough scheme across Dumfries and Galloway in February.

It is 400 fewer claimants than in January, representing a one per cent drop in take-up, leaving the current take-up rate in the region at 14 per cent.

The majority of recipients – 5100 – were female, whilst the remaining 3300 were male.
