Community council pair give up roles
Community council chairman Dick Mongahan

MOFFAT and District Community Council’s Dick Mongahan has stepped down from his role as chairman.

In a statment released online, the group said Mr Mongahan had taken the decision due to personal health reasons.

Secretary Lynn Anderson, who is moving away from the area, is also departing from her role.

The developments render the council inquorate, and its monthly meeting, due to take place on Tuesday this week, was subsequently cancelled along with next week’s AGM, originally pencilled in for January 26.

A casual vacancy election process has now begun to bring in new members and elect a new chair and secretary, which locals will be updated on in due course.

Check in on the Moffat and District Community Council Facebook page for more updates.
