Repairs last just six days

THIS photo shows how pothole repairs in Eaglesfield lasted less than a week.

A team from Dumfries and Galloway Council carried out emergency repairs at the B722 junction, opposite the post office, last Thursday morning.

But just six days later the asphalt had broken up and was starting to spill out.

Lisa Hogg lives at the junction and said: “The road is completely ruffled up. It started cracking after just 48 hours and it’s big pieces in the road now.

“It’s a bit of a worry, one of the potholes got worse in the course of a day.

“It’s the same old thing that we have been saying for months, it’s awful, it really is.”

Annandale East and Eskdale Councillor Karen Carruthers is investigating and has informed officials. She said: “It’s a disgrace and disappointing, to say the least.”
