Snow's here again

MORE snow and bad weather hit the region overnight - resulting in school closures and road accidents.

At about 7 am, an accident occurred on the B7076 service road between Johnstonebridge and Lockerbie, and another on the B795 at Gerranton.

Police also warned about deteriorating conditions on the A75 and A702, while the B7979 at Wanlockhead was declared impassable.

The snow and ice has led to the closure of Hutton and Dunscore primaries today.

In addition, some of the region’s bus services are being diverted or have been cancelled today.

Meanwhile, ski fans have been heading to Wanlockhead and Leadhills to enjoy action on the slopes at Scotland’s highest villages.

The yellow weather warning is in place until 11 am today (Thurs).
