Club raises the bar for cycling

ANNAN Youth Cycle Club are wheelie feeling good after being accredited for a national award for enhancing cycling in the area.

The club has received Go-Ride Status from British Cycling, who are the main national governing body for cycle sport across Great Britain.
Annan now join 30 other clubs throughout Scotland to be recognised by meeting all the standards which are set in place.
Club coach Philip Bertram said: “We are extremely proud to have gained our Go-Ride Status, which has been the culmination of all the work which has been put into keeping the club running since its formation.
“This award means the club can participate in national programmes, such as the HSBC UK Go-Ride Racing for novice riders.”
