Lockerbie Air Disaster: 30 years on

TOADY, Lockerbie remembered.

The town stood still to remember the 243 passengers, 16 crew and 11 on the ground who perished the night Pan Am flight 103 fell from the sky above the town.

Lockerbie Community Council listened to the town’s desire to honour the 30th anniversary in a tastefully understated manner.

In response to town wishes, three subtle wreath laying ceremonies took place on Friday at Park Place, Tundergarth Church and Sherwood Crescent, staggered between 9 am and 11 am.

At noon, a large crowd gathered at Dryfesdale Cemetery for the day’s longest tribute.
