SUPPORTERS clubs backing Queen of the South have been handing out awards to their top players.

Several clubs were at Palmerston Park in Dumfries at the weekend to hand out their end of season player of the year awards, and it was defenders Chris Higgins, Andy Dowie and Kevin Holt along with top goalscorer Derek Lyle who were rewarded.
Captain Chris Higgins was voted Player of the Year by the Barflies, who choose Kevin Holt as their Young Player of the Year.
Kevin also picked up the Player of the Year trophy presented by the Mid Annandale Doonhamers.
Andy Dowie was meanwhile the choice of both The Globe Inn (Howff) Doonhamers and the New Baazar Doonhamers, while Derek Lyle collected the prize given out by the Junior Blues.
