Woollen mill cleared in court

THE Edinburgh Woollen Mill has been cleared in court at Dumfries of two charges of mislabelling scarves at their former Dumfries store as 100 per cent cashmere.

Following four days of evidence, Sheriff George Jamieson on Wednesday said he was satisfied that no regulations had been breached and found the company not guilty.

The firm, of Waverley Mills, Glenesk Road, Langholm, had maintained a plea of not guilty to the charges under the Textile Markets Labelling regulations involving a cashmere scarf claimed to be 100 per cent cashmere on each occasion at the store at Church Place in Dumfries on February 18 and June 24, 2014.
